The Vision
The “500 Million Trees. 5 Hours. One Nigeria Future” is the flagship launch event of the Tree Star Strategy — Nigeria’s bold national movement to plant and protect 100 million trees every year
For one historic day, students, soldiers, civil servants, market women, traditional rulers, youths, farmers, and corporate leaders will unite in a massive wave of action to combat desertification, restore our land, fight climate change, and create lasting peace through trees.
This is the beginning of the Great Green Seam — a living legacy that will stand for the next 100 years.
How We Are Doing It
How It Will Work
• Pre-Nurturing Phase: 500 million Tree Star Jars (1-year-old saplings) will be nurtured by Nigerians across the country from mid-2026.
• Planting Day: On 1 June 2027, trees will be planted in five coordinated national waves over 5 hours.
• Technology: Every tree will be tracked via the Tree Star App with GPS and blockchain for transparency.
• Ownership: Every participant becomes a Tree Star — proud owner of at least one tree protected for 100 years.
Logistics Supported By: Military & Para-Military, State Governments, LGAs, and Corporate Partners.
